The Antiquarian wrote in a 2014 sell thread: "An iconic piece of EVE, it is a remnant of a Jovian ship during one of the FIRST LIVE EVENTS hosted by CCP. For almost a decade, there has been dozens of "WTB" threads seeking the Trinary Data, but none of the listings have been satisfied because they were firmly "locked" in Entity's museum vault."

Trinary Data came from a live event in May 2004. The data was loot from a Jovian ship piloted by a Jovian called Veniel, who was in fact a CCP pilot. There was an original discussion thread where a player, Piccilo, told that the ship dropped 3 of the Trinary Data. He was told the items were worthless.

It is unclear if the Veniel ship dropped the data more than one time. In the years to come it was claimed that only 3 Trinary Data exist in the game, and Entity had all 3 locked up.
The original event was therefore around 2004 or 2005. Apparently there were only 3 specimens and Entity managed to get them all.

Origin[]

Trinary Data came from a live event in May 2004. The data was loot from a Jovian ship piloted by a Jovian called Veniel, who was in fact a CCP pilot. There was an original discussion thread where a player, Piccilo, told that the ship dropped 3 of the Trinary Data. He was told the items were worthless.

It is unclear if the Veniel ship dropped the data more than one time. In the years to come it was claimed that only 3 Trinary Data exist in the game, and Entity had all 3 locked up.

Status[]

The Antiquarian in 2014 asked a price of 100 bn ISK for one of these, after he had traded with Entity for it previously.
